Auditions: AUG 10-11 Auditions held at Lyons Rec Center, 624 Louisiana Ave., New Orleans, LA 70115 AGES 7-18 Join us for open auditions for our nationally award-winning NOBA Center for Dance Pre-Professional Dance Program on Thursday, August 10, 2023, and Friday, August 11, 2023, with a callback placement & evaluation day on Saturday, August 12, 2023! This tuition-free program provides talented, motivated and focused students ages 7 to 18 with intensive instruction in ballet, pointe, modern and repertoire, plus workshops in other dance forms such as hip hop, jazz and West African dance, and unprecedented opportunities to study with world-renowned artists through the Master Artist Series. Accepted students also perform in NOBA’s exciting annual production of The Nutcracker Suite. Classes are held weekly from September 9, 2023, through May 19, 2024, at Lyons and Stallings St. Claude Rec Centers, as well as Tulane University’s McWilliams Hall, depending on level. Teaching faculty includes highly qualified local instructors and select students will receive training with NOBA Master Artists in Residence such as former Dance Theatre of Harlem stars Christina Johnson, Vince Collins, and Donald Williams, among others. Students are also offered unique opportunities such as special master classes with NOBA Main Stage artists, performances on local and national stages, and deeply discounted tickets to NOBA Main Stage performances. At least two years prior dance training is recommended prior to auditioning, and a parent/guardian must be present at check-in, which takes place 15 minutes prior to each audition session and to the placement/evaluation session.
