World of Coca Cola - Atlanta

Sponsored Review

By Suzette Wilkinson July 17, 2019

When I was a child, my aunt would bring me a glass bottle of Coca Cola and a snack every evening after work. That is how my love for Coca Cola started. Planning a road trip to Atlanta, we had to include a visit to World of Coca Cola to find the secret formula.

World of Coca Cola is a museum located in Atlanta showcasing the history of the world's most famous beverage brand. The visit begins in the lobby were you will receive a complimentary Coca Cola. Once a group of visitors is ready the doors open to begin your visit to the World of Coca Cola.

The Loft is an very interesting area featuring artifacts from the past and present that show us the rich history of Coca Cola. Items in the Loft range from a Coca‑Cola syrup urn, dated 1896, to Coca‑Cola beach pants, dated 1970, advertisements from around the world. Here we enjoyed our complimentary drink while a Coca Cola ambassador narrated the rich history of some of the items. I must say it is a room filled with memorabilia and quite interesting. From there we proceeded to a theater to watch a film (no pictures allowed here) that celebrates Moments of Happiness with Coca Cola. This film can only be seen at the World of Coca Cola. Spoiler alert: made me shed a few tears!

Once the film is over your self guided tour begins. My kids and I definitely wanted to take a photo with the Polar Bear, so that is the first thing we did, I just love the Polar Bear, he is just so awesome!

Then we went to the Vault. This area is top secret, you will see the vault were the only hand written copy of the Coca Cola formula is saved. While you are allowed to take photos, they are not to be published. My 12 year old had a lot of fun here, too. He loved that this exhibit is very interactive.

The 4D Theater will take you on a quest around the World to find the Secret Formula. It is a complete 4D experience with 3D glasses, moving seats and special effects. I was very excited to see it features my home country- Panama.

There is a lot to see in the Milestones of Refreshment including photos of Coca cola Bottling company around the World. Bottle Works shows the process of bottling Coca Cola with all the machines used from the water filter to the actual bottling to the final quality testing.

At the Pop Culture Gallery, my 5 year old enjoyed making his own Coca Cola Art that was displayed at the top and after he was done with his art it was emailed to us. He also took a moment to share a coke story.

We finally made our round to the Taste It! was definitely the family's favorite section. We tried every single one of the product selections from each of the 5 continents.  We had some favorites and some not so favorites. At the end of the day, we still choose Classic Coca cola over the rest of the sodas we tried!

I definitely enjoyed our visit to the World of Coca Cola and I recommend you plan a road trip to Atlanta to visit this awesome museum that show cases the rich history of Coca Cola!
