Boo at the Zoo Presented by Bryan Subaru kicks off on Friday, October 20, with an appearance by the Pop Princesses singing today’s pop songs at the Capital One Performance Pavilion Stage. Guests also can meet the Princesses and the Scallywag Pirate Gang.

Music and games by Super Star Events will be featured all four nights at the Capital One Performance Pavilion Stage.

Boo at the Zoo is a safe, fun-filled Halloween event for children up to age 12, featuring trick-or-treat houses with candy, a Ghost Train (which can be scary), a haunted house (scary and non-scary), games, entertainment and more. All games and treats, except concessions, are included with admission.

The spooky party will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. all four nights. Audubon Zoo will close at 3 p.m. each day to prepare for Boo at the Zoo.

"Boo at the Zoo is the best way to enjoy trick or treating in New Orleans and benefit Audubon Zoo and Children’s Hospital,’’ said Audubon Nature Institute President and CEO Ron Forman. "This safe, family-friendly event is a cherished Halloween tradition for families across southeast Louisiana.''

In addition to the opening-night appearance by the Pop Princesses, the 2017 edition of Boo at the Zoo will feature a haunted mansion, a Laser Tag game and Angry Bird Launchers provided by Games2U Nola, a Monster Maze, inflatables and Star Wars characters on all four nights.

The Gottesman Family Endangered Species Carousel is included in admission.

The fun also includes nightly animal encounters from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and a toddler area featuring live entertainment in Audubon's Cool Zoo (be aware, no water will be running).

All animal exhibits will be closed during Boo at the Zoo.

Contests for best group costume and best stroller/wagon decorations will be held on October 21, 27 and 28. To compete, costumed groups must be a combination of adults and children and must include a minimum of three contestants. For more information on the contests, click here. There will not be a costume and stroller/wagon decorating contest on October 20.

A limited number of tickets will be sold for Boo at the Zoo each night. Tickets will be honored only for the date purchased. The event is held rain or shine.

Ticket holders who are unable to attend should consider their purchase a donation. There will be no refunds nor will tickets be honored on another night or year.

No outside food or beverages are allowed at Boo at the Zoo. Designated bags will be distributed for children to use for trick or treating.

The Ghost Train ride will close at 7:30 p.m. each night.

My 3 boys absolutely love to attend Boo at the Zoo. The train ride and the haunted house are favorites of my children. It is a fun event for the whole family with kid friendly Halloween fun that will spook your little one into a smile. We look forward to attending this year again.
