The second week of school is done and to celebrate, I took my kids to the Pontchartrain Convention and Civic Center to check out Discover The Dinosaurs Unleashed. We had a great time exploring the mystery of prehistoric life.
As we walked in we felt like we were taken back in time to an era when dinosaurs roamed the earth. The boys attentively read the boards with information about the era and each dinosaur. They carefully wrote down the information in their scavenger hunt sheet. They enjoyed the up close encounters with life like Stegosaurus, Velociraptors, and T-Rex in the walk through exhibit.
One of my kids' favorite activity at the exhibit was the fossil panning. They had so much fun finding their fossils which included bones and teeth. The boys each got a pan full of dirt, rocks, and fossils. They carefully looked through to find all their goodies that they got to bring home.
The boys also enjoyed the dinosaur ride and the Jurassic Jeeps on the Dino Raceway. My youngest child had a blast in the toddler area while my older children loved the dinosaur themed slide. There was a section with coloring sheets and other crafts. We played mini golf at the Mesozoic MIni Golf, dug up the bones of dinosaurs, and my 3 year old got his face painted as a T-rex. this was his favorite. He is so happy with his face painting. The face painters are very talented and work very fast, which keeps the line moving. I loved taking our photo in the green screen.
Discover The Dinosaurs UNLEASHED is definitely family fun of prehistoric proportions! Discover The Dinosaurs UNLEASHED will be open on Sunday, August 27 from 9am to 7pm. Take your kids to have fun and learn at the same time.

Tickets: $19 adults, $19 children, $16 seniors. Children under two are free with a paid adult. T-Rex Tickets (available for ages 2-12) are available for $45.
Child general admission tickets include the Dinosaur Exhibit and access to attractions (Valley of the Bones, Ride the Dinosaurs, Cretaceous Crafts, Dino Raceway, Mesozoic Mini Golf, Kids Adventure Zone and Scavenger Hunt). T-Rex Tickets are available for children ages 2-12 and include access to all the general admission attractions PLUS one Face Painting, one Souvenir Green Screen Photo, one Souvenir DTDU Backpack, and one Fossil Panning Experience. T-Rex Ticket purchasers also receive an EXCLUSIVE SpeedySaurus fast pass that allows one opportunity to jump to the front of the line at the attraction of their choice.
