Netflix Dreamworks Spirit Riding Free Premiere May 5TH

Sponsored Review

By Suzette Wilkinson May 3, 2017

Westbank Macaroni Kid hosted a premiere party, on April 29th, for Netflix new series Dreamworks Spirit Riding Free. The Party was held at Yoga Krewe. The children and their parents enjoyed the first 2 episodes Spirit Riding Free before it airs on Netflix on May 5th, 2017.

We had a light meal while we waited for all guests to arrive. After an introductory kids' yoga class, the guests grabbed a mat and found a comfortable spot on the floor in front of the screen to watch the premiere!

The kids enjoyed the show so much that we played the episodes in the background while we had a second yoga session and gave out Spirit Riding Free branded goodies. Each child received a poster with an activity, a Spirit branded bandana, a coupon code for an online Spirit Riding Free game, an excerpt from Spirit branded chapter books. The children enjoyed the episodes and can't wait to follow the adventures of Lucky and Spirit with each new episode of Spirit Riding Free.

A coming of age series, inspired by DreamWorks’ Oscar-nominated film Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron, Spirit Riding Free brings to life three smart, empowered and relatable main characters, Lucky, Pru and Abigail. From major events like flash floods and blizzards, trainer robbers and banditos, treasure hunts and secret sleepovers, executive producer Aury Wallington (“Sex in the City,” “Veronica Mars” and “Heroes”) has created a world filled
strong characters who defy stereotypes and mirror positive images of young viewers on screen.

Spirit Riding Free follows Lucky, a 12-year-old girl, as she moves from the city to the country. Lucky befriends a wild mustang that she names Spirit. Together with her new friends, Pru and Abigail, and their horses, Lucky explore the world filled with endless rides, many life lessons and never ending fun. The series is geared towards children 4-9 and while it may seem more for girls, my boys enjoyed it and cannot wait to watch more episodes.
