2017 Algiers Fall Fest Headlined by Local Music & Art Vendors

First NBC Bank, Algiers Development District, Algiers Development Corporation, and the Joint Development Committee are pleased to present the Third Annual Algiers Fest on Saturday, October 7, 2017.  This event celebrating the military, police and our community, takes place at Federal City in Algiers from 11:00 a.m.to 7:00 p.m. The family- friendly festival is free and open to the public and will feature live music, local art vendors, food trucks, drinks, and an array of children’s activities for all ages.

“We are thrilled to be bringing this festival to the Algiers Community for the second year in a row!  There is something really wonderful about coming together to celebrate our unique community, our military, police, and local artists all in one place. Kathy Lynn Honaker, Manager for the Algiers Development Corporation added: “With an incredible line-up of entertainment, children activities and great food and music, come out and join us at this year’s celebration. Let the fun begin!”

Many local art vendors and businesses have been invited to set up booths with artwork and other items for sale. To honor the military, there will be hourly raffle giveaways to active duty military personnel.  The music kicks off at 11am and continues until 7:00 p.m., with DJ Captain Charles entertaining between sets. About the Algiers Development District

The Algiers Development District of the City of New Orleans is a special taxing district (TIF)created by state legislation. The special taxing district is comprised of all territory within the fifteenth ward (Algiers) of Orleans Parish, State of Louisiana. The district has been designated as a local redevelopment authority for Federal City military base realignment purposes and has been authorized to incur debt, including revenue bonds from revenue sources for its enumerated purposes.
